The Call

This is a song by Regina Spektor from the movie Prince Caspian, which I thought was a great sequel in the Narnia series...

Anyway, I think that these lyrics really describe the way I feel about Italy, friends that I dont get to see everyday anymore, and even my hometown. My heart seems to be spread out all over this great world. Part of it resides in Salina, part in Italy, and part in Branson. Anyway, my thoughts are mixed in with the lyrics, which are bolded.

It started out as a feeling (missing people, family, places, consistent time with the ones i love)
Which then grew into a hope
Which then turned into a quiet thought
Which then turned into a quiet word

And then that word grew louder and louder
Til it was a battle cry

I'll come back (either to Kwest, Italy, home, manhattan)
When you call me (if the lord desires for me to return)
No need to say goodbye (we arent dying, but things do change. and if i dont see you again on earth, we have all eternity together praising the lord)

Just because everything's changing (transitioning....)
Doesn't mean it's never
Been this way before

All you can do is try to know
Who your friends are
As you head off to the war (this spiritual battle we are amidst.....who will brave it with me?)

Pick a star on the dark horizon
And follow the light

You'll come back
When it's over
No need to say good bye

Now we're back to the beginning
It's just a feeling and no one knows yet
But just because they can't feel it too (my friends who may not understand.....)
Doesn't mean that you have to forget

Let your memories grow stronger and stronger
Til they're before your eyes (so i can remember how the lord has changed me through these incredible experiences)

You'll come back
When they call you
No need to say good bye

If you havent seen the movie the Chronicles of Narnia, I highly recommend it! Such a cool representation of the gospel in a fairy-taleish sort of way. The following video shows that the two eldest siblings wont be going back to Narnia....
