Ix-Nay on the Ail-Tray

Back to Yellowstone again yesterday!

The guys all wore their sheriff badges (well, Casey and Clay didnt wear theirs for very long...Dad made it all day though). We passed the bathroom that Clay will forever be infamous for, and had a good laugh...then proceeded to finish the top loop of the figure 8 through Yellowstone.

The trip started with a jaunt down to see a waterfall! 328 steps down....a sweet waterfall and a rainbow....then 328 steps back up. I was definitely a wimp...my ears hurt really bad once I got back up, and I discovered that I am incredibly out of shape....but the waterfall was gorgeous, and then the river cut through an enormous canyon.

We saw a moose yesterday! Our one goal for the day other than finishing the top loop...We were hoping to see a bighorn sheep, but it didnt sound like that was very common. The moose was really cool and cut across the road behind us....!

We stopped for lunch...however, much to our surprise, we were swarmed by bird sized mosquitoes. I captured a great video of Mom, Casey, and Clay fleeing to eat their lunch in the car, while Dad and I toughed it out....luckily for us, they left the chips behind.

In the afternoon, we had a couple other hikes and waterfalls, saw a bunch of elk, and Mom perfected her twisty trail driving. We realized that we were only about a couple miles from Montana, so we took a road headed that way.....parked the car, took a picture on each side of the sign---one saying "Welcome to Montana" and the flip side saying "Welcome to Wyoming". The 3 minutes I spent in Montana were great, but it would be nice to go back sometime....

Lastly we saw these Mammoth hot springs....but we only drove by them....at this point, we werent feelin' getting out of the car....but got some pics out the window...

I took a shower last night and tonight in the bath house because I had used all the hot water to wash dishes...definitely felt like I experienced another form of RV camping...

Today, we started our long trek back to Kansas, but went east through Wyoming and then into South Dakota. Before coming to SD, we made a stop at Devil's Tower....We drove closer to it, but took the picture further away....not real sure why

Notice our fantastic tourist shirts....the debate was between mine and Clay's for "Most Tacky"

Once we got to South Dakota, we decided to swing by Mt. Rushmore real quick. We had all already been there, but Clay didnt quite remember it....and we thought this would be the most ideal place for our Hawaiian shirts....

We have about 550 miles of driving left for tomorrow, but no stops! We are heading straight home....

A great trip by far....
